Cara A. Grassie Communications, Inc. is a boutique communications firm specializing in customized communications services in the areas of public relations, meeting and event planning and grant writing.

We work with you to develop and clearly communicate your message to your clients, members or constituencies. Our company provides personalized customer and professional services. We are dedicated to being both a member of your team and a resource in your success.

Cara A. Grassie is President of Cara A. Grassie Communications, Inc. a capital region based communications and public relations firm, and has over 20 years of professional experience in the public and private sectors. Cara is also an Adjunct Professor at Schenectady County Community College, where she teaches undergraduate courses in Meeting and Convention Planning, Hospitality, and Travel and Tourism. 

​Cara was a Grant Writer at The College of Saint Rose, in the Office of Corporate Foundation & Government Relations. Prior to that, she held the positions of Director of Education and Training and Account Executive at an association management firm in downtown Albany. While there she managed the daily operations, communications, and events of several statewide associations simultaneously.

Cara also worked, for a time, in the public sector as the Employment Project Coordinator for the Albany County Department for Aging and served in administrative positions for the City of Cohoes, including the Police Department, Code Enforcement Bureau and the Mayor's Office.  

Before working in the public sector Cara served as Assistant Communications Director and Assistant Legislative Director for Bogdan and Faist, P.C., ranked among the top lobbying firms in New York State. Cara worked extensively in communications, meeting planning, membership development, advocacy and legislative bill tracking for various statewide organizations. Cara also served as the Communications Director for the Albany County Democratic Committee, and has volunteered on political campaigns in various capacities. 

She is a graduate of The College of Saint Rose, and holds both a Master of Science Degree in Education and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History with a Minor in Spanish. Cara is an active member in numerous national and statewide associations.
